Empire Marina Lake Macquarie strives to ensure the safety and well being of all employees, visitors, guests, contractors and for the protection of the environment. In support of this commitment, outside contractors conducting business at the Marina have an obligation to comply with marina policies and procedures.
All Contractors to site must read and complete our External Contractor Access form and gain approval from Marina Management prior to commencing any work on our site.
From January 2015 it is a requirement that all outside Contractors hold a current BIA Marine Card to gain work entry. Head to the BIA’s website for further information. If your Marine Card has expired the BIA refresher course is now available online.
All contractors undertaking work in the Boatyard or on the Marina are required to read the Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Manufacturers Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for the specific job they are undertaking. Copies of these can be found in the marina office. If you’re unsure where to start, please discuss the project with our friendly team who can help you identify the relevant documents for the work you intend to carry out in the boat yard or out on the marina.
