CLEAN MARINA LEVEL 3 ACCREDITED
Empire Marina Lake Macquarie is part of the Clean Marinas program and was awarded a Clean Marina Level 3 re-accreditation. This program is endorsed by the International Council of Marine Industry Associations.
The program was established in 2002 and an assessment is conducted every three years and Empire Marina Lake Macquarie is at the forefront of marina technology required for this program.
LICENSED ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AUTHORITY EPA SITE
The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) issues licenses to owners and operators of various industrial premises and Empire Marina Lake Macquarie has always complied with best practice policy on this. Our marina has always monitored pollution prevention and used cleaner production techniques because keeping Lake Macquarie in pristine condition is part of our business. FISH FRIENDLY ACCREDITED MARINA
We are accredited as a Fish Friendly Marina. We are the first marina in our region and only the third in the state to gain this accreditation. This initiative is attached to the Clean Marina Program and have to be a level 3 accredited marina to be awarded. We continually strive to show our marina practices are of the highest environmental standards and we can now pass on material to the community via the ’10 Tips’ publication available from the Chandlery to help keep our waters viable for native fish stocks and their habitats.
