Newcastle Permanent People’s Choice Awards Float Your Boat 2025 

Float Your Boat 2025 was an amazing weekend of perfect winter weather, exciting colourful live sites around the lake, all coming together to celebrate the amazing light displays of the FYB 2025 Flotilla. Friday night the flotilla gathered at Empire Marina Lake Macquarie before making their way down the west side of the lake to the Toronto Live Site. Here the boats were met with a large crowd lining the Toronto Foreshore and public jetty. Wonderful to see so many people coming out on Friday night to enjoy the light displays and join in with the Toronto live site festivities atmosphere.  After sailing a couple of laps around Toronto Bay, the parade continued to their final destination at Wangi RSL Club.

Saturday night presented more clear skies and once again the perfect winter weather for Float Your Boat 2025.
After meeting up again at Empire Marina Lake Macquarie, the flotilla sailed to Belmont Foreshore Live Site for the start of Saturday night’s parade. Belmont Foreshore was lined with a large crowd just like Toronto on the Friday night. The flotilla looked amazing across Belmont Bay and the flotilla entertained the Belmont crowd before sailing out past Belmont 16s’ and onto Warners Bay. Here they were greated with thousands of people who attended Warners Bay Live Site  and eagerly awaited the flotilla as they sailed into Warners Bay.

The weekend event went down as another one to remember around our amazing lake. Our sincere thanks to the other sponsors, and our Lake Macquarie City Council team who organised the event. And lastly, huge thanks to every single boat owner and crew who put together an amazing variety of displays to light up the lake for Float Your Boat 2025. It was another wonderful celebration of our lake, the amazing lake foreshore areas we enjoy, and our amazing local boating community. Empire Marina Lake Macquarie team were proud to host the event for another year and look forward to Float Your Boat 2026.
